Women in Conservation: a conversation

17th February 2025

Our stonemason and stained glass conservator, Samantha Peacock, is taking part in a special event organised by SPAB which celebrates Women in Conservation on Tuesday 18 March 2025 (5.30 – 8pm). Cliveden Conservation joins DBR Limited, Heritage Crafts, Lovell Stone Group, PAYE Stonework and Restoration, QEST, Stonewest , Stone Federation Great Britain and The Masons Company Charitable Trust, as ‘kind supporters of the event’.

SPAB is hosting a special event to celebrate women in conservation and timing it in recognition of International Women’s Day, 8 Mar 2025

She will be joining a unique panel discussion, led by award-winning sculptor Nina Bilbey, for an evening of insight and inspiration into what it means to be a woman in conservation. The panel will be discussing the creativity, skills, ambitions and barriers faced by women who have careers as carvers, sculptors, masons and conservators.

The panel also includes Marcia Bennett-Male (sculptor), Josephine Crossland (stone carver) and Marlène Lagnado (stonemason and letter-cutter). There will be an opportunity for the panel to take questions from the audience.

The event is taking at the Art Workers’ Guild, a Grade II* listed Georgian building in the heart of Bloomsbury. You can also live stream the event on YouTube.

SPAB recommends advance booking. Tickets cost £25 full price or £15 concession price.
