We are delighted to announce that Ana Logreira has been asked to speak about the conservation of Pugin’s decorative scheme at St Peter & St Paul’s Church in Albury at this year’s Traditional Paint Forum (TPF) Conference ‘Sublime to the Meticulous!’ taking place on 14th March 2025.
The project to conserve Pugin’s decorative scheme followed a tender process supported and approved by the Churches Conservation Trust (CCT), which together with The Friends of Albury Old Saxon Church, is responsible for safeguarding this historic building. The aim of the project was to stabilise the lower section of the painted decoration in the chapel and on the altar, following an initial phase of work to improve the rainwater system, taking water away from the façade and roof.
In her talk, Ana will be sharing details of the complex conservation treatment. She will describe each stage of the project from undertaking solubility and cleaning trials of the paint layers and how the painted sections were stabilised to retouching large areas of lost decoration.
Ana will be speaking alongside Darryl Elliott (Hare & Humphreys), Phillipa McDonnell (University of Lincoln) and Heritage Officer Dorée Carrier at the event in London.
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from Ana and other esteemed speakers. Book your tickets now for 14th March 2025
